Documentary Film: Uganda Nutrition Fellowship: Creating Leaders in Nutrition

The documentary “The Uganda Nutrition Fellowship: Creating Leaders in Nutrition” tells the story of a nutrition fellowship aimed at nurturing the next generation of nutrition leaders in Uganda.

Reducing malnutrition has been recognized by the Government of Uganda as a necessary step to achieve its vision to become a middle-income country. To do this, the country needs a skilled, creative, and innovative group of leaders.

The Uganda Nutrition Fellowship (UNF), implemented by FANTA, placed nutrition graduates with host organizations where they were provided with a unique mix of work experience, professional development, and mentorship to promote skill-building in leadership, teamwork, communication, and nutrition technical topics.

Through their UNF experience, the fellows developed strong skills in program design and implementation, coordination, advocacy, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting, as well as in accountability and leadership.

Throughout the documentary, you will meet several fellows and hear inspiring stories about how their fellowship experience has helped them embark on a career in nutrition.
