Dr. Stelio Albino focuses on clinical aspects of FANTA's work in Mozambique, including nutritional assessment, counseling, and support; integrated management of acute malnutrition; quality improvement and assurance; the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative; and the Partnership for HIV-Free Survival. He has an MD from the University of Eduardo Mondlane.

Stelio, what has been your proudest moment on the FANTA project?

I have very two proud moments. The first was when I was leading the creation of a Mozambique guideline on management and treatment of adult and pregnancy acute malnutrition (PRNII), which is helping the health care workers in Mozambique make accurate recommendations. The second was when we implemented the program to provide direct technical assistance to health providers to improve the screening, diagnosis, management, and treatment of children with acute malnutrition.
