Zambian HIV and Nutrition Wall Charts & Flip Chart

Zambian Counseling Charts

To strengthen counseling of people living with HIV and antiretroviral therapy clients by home-based care and health facility providers on the importance of good nutrition, living positively, preventing and fighting illness through diet, and maternal and infant nutrition, FANTA developed a flipchart for use in HBC and two wall charts for use at the health-facility level.

These wall charts and flipchart provide general information on breastfeeding and replacement feeding in the HIV context. The materials are not adequate nor designed to counsel mothers on infant feeding decisions. They strictly follow the 2005 Zambia National Nutrition Guidelines for Care and Support of People Living with HIV/AIDS and may not be appropriate for all countries. For current international guidance on HIV and infant feeding, please check out http://www.who.int/child-adolescent-health/NUTRITION/HIV_infant.htm.

Due to the large file sizes, the Flip Chart is available for download in sections according to theme.
