This manual facilitates the integration of community-based management of severe acute malnutrition in children 6–59 months into the primary health care system. The manual reflects the transition to the World Health Organization 2006 child growth standards and serves as a basis for the development of national operational guidelines and job aids. The manual is intended to be used by health and nutrition managers and health care providers working at different levels of health and nutrition service provision in Sudan, as well as national training institutions and implementing partners involved in pre- or in-service training.
