Food Security Update for USAID Mission
in Honduras (2002)USAID/Honduras commissioned FANTA to conduct this study to analyze the food situation in the country and
to help
guide the Mission in developing its aid program and allocation of resources.
The update was based on a review of literature and key informant interviews and examined the nature and scope
of food insecurity in Honduras. It also identified major constraints to improving
food security and suggested broad policy and program responses for the Title II
food aid program. The update also offered useful information for
private voluntary organizations (PVOs) specifically interested in working in Honduras, as well as for all PVOs developing
Title II applications. This document served as a practical reference for technical assistance for PVO programming
in the country.
