Nutrition and HIV/AIDS Strategy 2007–2010
This strategy seeks to make nutrition interventions mainstream by sensitizing policy makers
about the critical role that food and nutrition security plays,
and advancing nutrition and HIV/AIDS as a priority on the health
agenda. The strategy also seeks to identify nutrition interventions
for integration into HIV/AIDS policies and programs and to incorporate
HIV/AIDS in food and nutrition policies and programmes.
FANTA worked with the Kenya National AIDS/STI Control Programme
along with other stakeholders in nutrition care and support to develop
the strategy. Funding was provided by UNICEF, the United States Agency for International Devleopment’s (USAID)
Office of Health, Infectious Diseases, and Nutrition, in the Bureau for Global Health, and USAID/Kenya.
