From October 2015 to September 2015, FANTA worked across the globe in 11 countries to address the complex and multisectoral barriers to food and nutrition security faced by millions of people around the world. Over the year, we strengthened the capacity of over 2,000 health care professionals in nutrition and related topics, developed 40 tools to support nutrition programs, and assisted with the development of 11 global- and national-level nutrition policies. In addition, FANTA led innovative research, which was published in several high-impact peer-reviewed journals, in order to strengthen and improve programs and systems that deliver nutrition services.
FANTA is committed to supporting USAID’s Multi-Sectoral Nutrition Strategy 2014-2025, which aims to reduce chronic malnutrition by 20% over 5 years. Our work strengthens food security and health policies, programs, and systems for improved nutrition. Through this work, we strive to improve the health and well-being of vulnerable individuals, families, and communities in developing countries.
