Manual for Country-Level Nutrition Advocacy Using PROFILES and Nutrition Costing

FANTA released a manual with step-by-step instructions for facilitating a country-level nutrition advocacy planning process using the PROFILES nutrition advocacy tool and nutrition costing. Based on a process FANTA developed by facilitating nutrition advocacy in developing countries, the manual includes planning guidance; session plans and handouts for workshops and meetings; presentations with notes; and templates.

Stakeholder Consultation Meeting on Update of the 2008 Community-Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) Training Guide

FANTA hosted a stakeholder consultation in March 2018 to discuss updating the training guide for health care providers who manage, supervise, and implement Community-Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) in emergency and non-emergency contexts. The updated guide will include WHO’s new guidance on management of CMAM, evidence, best practices, and lessons learned from field implementers.

Uganda District Nutrition Coordination Committee Initiative

5 April 2018

FANTA and partners undertook a 2-year initiative to strengthen nutrition leadership and governance at the national and district levels in Uganda. This effort, called the District Nutrition Coordination Committee (DNCC) Initiative, focused on 10 districts. A recently published brief provides an overview of the approach, as well as lessons learned.

FANTA Project Annual Highlights

From October 2016 to September 2017, we strengthened the capacity of over 2,800 health care professionals, developed 32 tools to support nutrition programs, and assisted with the development of 9 global- and national-level nutrition policies.
