Food for Education Indicator Guide (2001)

Food for Education (FFE) approaches aimed to increase enrollment and school attendance in developing countries, and development organizations have considerable experience operating FFE programs. Title II food aid was provided to schools in developing countries, in combination with improvements in school infrastructure, curricula development, and other inputs, to maximize the benefits of food. However, there was little guidance on how to monitor and evaluate the impact of the food aid on educational progress and achievement.

FANTA, together with Title II food aid private voluntary organizations (PVOs), various USAID offices involved in education, the World Bank, and the World Food Programme, prepared this guide to provide insight on these issues.
