In 2003, FANTA reviewed CARE’s food security early warning system in Haiti’s Northwest Department to develop recommendations for other USAID/Office of Food for Peace development project partners to consider when setting up similar early warning systems in the country. The recommendations on data collection and analysis and on early warning system structure and organization are relevant for stakeholders designing such systems not only in Haiti, but also in other shock-prone areas.
