Stelio Albino, Senior Technical Officer, Nutrition

Dr. Stelio Albino focuses on clinical aspects of FANTA's work in Mozambique, including nutritional assessment, counseling, and support; integrated management of acute malnutrition; quality improvement and assurance; the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative; and the Partnership for HIV-Free Survival. Prior to joining FANTA, he was the chief medical officer in Tsanganodistrict in Tete Province, where he gained a wealth of experience in the management of acute malnutrition, infectious diseases, prevention of HIV and mother-to-child transmission of HIV, TB, and other health services at the clinical and community levels. He also has been trained in quality improvement methods and participated in a study on prevention of chronic malnutrition in Tete Province. He has an MD from the University of Eduardo Mondlane.
