Phindile Lupafya has 6 years of experience providing technical assistance in the areas of nutrition and HIV. She joined FANTA after working for USAID’s ASSIST Project, where she worked with the Malawi Ministry of Health to initiate quality improvement activities related to nutrition assessment, counseling, and support. Through another USAID-funded project, she provided technical support for the rollout and integration of community-based management of acute malnutrition into the Malawian health system. In addition, she worked for the University of North Carolina – Breastfeeding Antiretroviral and Nutrition Study where she supported nutrition education, counseling, and treatment for malnourished HIV positive women and their infants. She holds a BS in Agriculture-Nutrition and Food Science from Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and is in the process of completing an MPH from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
