Getu has nearly 20 years of experience working in public health. Before joining FANTA, he worked on USAID’s Food by Prescription program in Ethiopia as technical advisor at the Oromia Regional Health Bureau. He has experience working in the areas of nutrition and HIV with different government and nongovernmental partners in Ethiopia. He is an experienced trainer on topics such as HIV care and treatment, prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV, and management of severe acute malnutrition. He has a Master of Public Health degree from Hawasa University and a Bachelor of Science degree in public health from Jimma University. He is also a registered nurse.
