In Côte d'Ivoire, a focus country of the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), FANTA-2 provides technical assistance to help integrate nutrition into the care and support for people living with HIV (PLHIV). FANTA-2’s work includes collaborating with Côte d’Ivoire’s Ministry of Health and other partners to develop national guidelines for the nutritional care and support for PLHIV and tuberculosis, create nutrition counseling materials for PLHIV and draft a strategy for designing and implementing Food by Prescription (FBP) programs.

FBP Strategy: FBP has become an effective and replicable approach for meeting the nutritional needs of malnourished PLHIV in clinical settings, significantly enhancing the care and treatment provided.
